Congratulations Jimmy on an exceptional brown belt demonstration!  Expert filming by Steve Burke.  Special props to TJ for being uke of the year.  Bravo!

  1. You were awesome Jimmy! I keep watching your video because I can’t believe how fluid you are. The throws were especially great and of course your sidemount escape to triangle is always fun to watch. Great demonstration.

  3. I’ve been reading the comments on YouTube and it is obvious that people are super impressed with this performance. Jimmy continues to be the standard bearer for RDA.  Crisp technique and fluid movement are evident.  Looking back at the purple belt test (which is a benchmark in its own right) it is obvious how much improvement you have made.  The big difference I see is the presence throughout the transitions; you keep tension and pressure while you move between the techniques.  Very, very impressive.

I feel privileged to train with you and always learn a lot being on the mat with you.

  6. Congratulations Jimmy! You are a true technician, a pleasure to watch, and as T.J. said, the standard to aspire to. I still look forward to possessing the technical fortitude displayed in your test for purple, let alone the elevation and fluidity you’ve shown from then until now. Amazing display, and I don’t envy myself this missed time training with you all, as well as missing the phenomenal growth of RDA. Good things!

  10. Jimmy, it was an honor to roll with you that day.  I greatly appreciate the opportunity.  You looked fantastic.  And, now that you can breathe again, I hope you look back at this video and see just how great and fluid you look.  You are well deserving of the ranking and I look forward to seeing you on the mat once you have recovered.

  12. Unbelievable Jimmy!  Just like i knew it would be, sorry I missed it, would have loved to have been there.  I think I speak for many RDA members when I say it is a pleasure to attempt to follow in your footsteps and I can’t think of a better person to carry the torch for the Academy.  I try very hard to model my game after yours and this video is a perfect example of why, congratulations Jimmy…

  13. Have to agree with all other comments. A video of great production with an outstanding display and understanding or BJJ. I like the wrist lock takedown during the final match.
