  2. Lucky? I thought you were just taking it easy on him big Brian?  Also just kidding, great work Donald.  The entire test was great but I was very impressed with the sparring, specifically with Roy and Mr. Harris, you showed not only skill but a lot of heart to push through when your body wanted to quit.  You should be very proud!

  4. Solid performance as expected.  I know more than most how much work you put into getting to this step and I know from being on the wrong end of your techniques how well deserved this was.  Congratulations on being the first from our generation of the academy to reach this level of the art.

  5. Indeed, lots of hard work and commitment.  You’ve been one of the most consistent people at our club in that regard.  I’m proud to be, along with you, TJ, James, and one or two others, part of the first generation of students under Roy.  It’s been fun to watch everyone’s growth, and very motivating to keep training and not get left behind. Keep up the hard work!

  6. Great job Donald and congratulations! You are always such a tough guy to contend with on the mat even though you’re often coasting in neutral so as not to crush us more fragile players.

I’ve also seen you grow tremendously as a teacher as you share what you know with the rest of us. We’re lucky to have you at the academy.

  11. Donald, your understanding of bjj as both a student and a teacher continues to grow. You are a fundamental part of this academy, and as Rick said, you are paving the way for Roy’s first generation of students that started as white belts together. Congrats!
