Congratulations Jonesy!
Big congrats to Jonesy for showing all the requirements for blue belt, then rolling for a half hour to pass his exam with flying colors. We wish him the best of luck on his next adventure in Hawaii!
Friday’s day class with be taught by Anthony, and Saturday’s by Donald. It’s going to be a scorcher this weekend, so this Saturday will be no gi.
I will be hopping on a plane to San Jose, California, for the Tai Kai at Yosokan Dojo in Monterey, California. Shihan Ivo Belmans will be leading another seminar and I’m looking forward to attending. His technique is amazing, and it’s always good to cross train and expand my skill set. I’ll give a full report of the weekend when I return on Monday.
Congratulations Jonesy!!! Your game has been coming along really well and I have thought you were ready for a while now. Wish I could have been a part of the test, but hopefully I will get a taste of the blue before you geo back to Hawaii.

Congrats! You showed a lot of heart during the test and you did very well. It is just the beginning of the journey, and it has been great training with you.

Good luck with your travels, the blue you tie tight around your waist will hold true across the ocean. Be a messenger of the academy and prove your new skill set…every chance you get.

The approval of this board of blue makes me feel, even more so, that I deserve to wear the color. Thank you all. To Rick, our long sessions on the mat have helped to further my endurance and awareness more than you know. James, I will do my best to represent the academy well. Receiving the blue from Roy gives me confidence that it will travel well indeed. Anthony, thank you for everything you’ve shown me. You are a good friend. I’ll see you soon, and on the beach. And T.J., your generosity and humility on the mat has given some of my greatest weapons. I wish you all could have been a part of my exam. You have all had a hand in building me up to this. Everyone at the academy exudes class, and I am proud to be a part of this.
