Please join me in congratulating Caryn Ackerman on her promotion to blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu!  Caryn showed crisp technique, tremendous heart, and gameness through and through.  It’s worth noting she’s my first female blue belt.  Really proud of her performance.  Bravo!

  2. I fully expected Caryn to do an absolute, top-notch demo and she did not let me down.

Her technical portion was one of the best of any blue belt demo I have witnessed; crisp, solid, precise.  And those of us who roll with Caryn in the academy know that her game is no joke, as she demonstrates in this video.  We have all experienced her nasty armlocks and strangling chokes.

Seriously well deserved blue belt indeed.  Congratulations.

  7. I regret that I couldn’t be there long enough to have met you. A truly tenacious demo. You seem to have a natural feel for the fluidity, and the flow. A very, very impressive performance! Well deserved! Also worth noting is Jimmy rockin’ the “Desert Storm” gi…scary man, and I want NONE of it!

  8. Man, I rolled with Caryn not to long ago and her game was tenacious, she had a triangle fixed on me but finished with the arm bar in a quick transition, very cool.  Caryn was technical and seemed to be allways threatening the submission of every second. Caryn, you have fans in Boise, Big Congratulations on your Blue- JK
