A Hero And Visionary
![]()
It is difficult to put into words how saddened I am by the passing of Steve Jobs. I have shed more than one tear by the death of this visionary man, who above all else, changed our world through a relentless pursuit of perfection.
The life I lead is deeply indebted to him. Everything I do to express myself depends on his works of art. The words that I write. The music I compose. The videos I create. He created tools of empowerment for everyman, where our enlightened self interest guides us to create a new and better world.
For Steve Jobs, it was never about money. It was about changing the world. His success came because he did what he loved. His spirit shines through everything he touched. Form and function united. The sophistication of simplicity. The beauty and grace of his technologies.
I can only hope to help change the world, in some small way, through my own technology. How can a martial art change the world? By changing one person at a time. By inspiring people to think differently. By giving others a powerful tool to improve their lives.
Thank you Steve Jobs, for helping me discover who I am. I am forever grateful.
Well said.

I’ve thought more than once how amazing the technology, software and hardware is that I use daily, that Steve Jobs created. My hope is that his brilliance, to a certain extent, might have been learned and passed on to the people who worked closely with him and even those who use and appreciate his products. Maybe then, the torch of vision and creativity might stay well lit.

Well put.
You should know that the videos that you produce DO affect and influence people in a very positive way. I can speak for myself when I say that watching your blue belt test videos gave me the first glimpse into what I had in front of me, and your “Blue Belt Requirements” DVD was what I watched when I came home at night after getting thrashed on the mats at Primal Jiu Jitsu in the early days/weeks/months of my journey. I enjoy seeing the progression of your first batch of students (James, TJ, etc.) as they advance their skill sets and continue down the path. Simply put: I can’t be the only one who is watching, learning, and drawing inspiration from your efforts. I offer my thanks.
As stated above, I train at Primal Jiu Jitsu down in San Diego, California. I was extremely fortunate to find such a top-notch instructor as D Davis, and my fellow students are awesome individuals. I went from never having grappled to winning silver at the Pan Ams this year, and I’m enjoying every step of the journey. I make videos to mark my progress and share with friends and family who ask, “Just what is this Joo-Jitsoo stuff?” Here’s the two-year progress report: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BOe65RY70A
Once again: thank you, and good luck to RDA in all its future endeavors.

Lets not forget there’s always 2 sides to the story.
